When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors!
Lightning Safety Preparedness Fact Sheet
If you can hear thunder, you can get hit by lightning. Take shelter immediately. If you cannot find a sturdy, fully enclosed building with wiring and plumbing, get into a metal-roofed vehicle. Stay inside for 30 minutes after the last rumble of thunder.
Air Quality Policy
Due to the increase in wild fires in 2023, KBA has developed an Air Quality policy for playing baseball outdoors.
Kanata Baseball Association follows this air quality guideline - if air quality is above 7, we stop outdoor baseball activities.
Additionally, KBA will follow direction from the City of Ottawa with regards to closing diamonds during periods of poor air quality. Finally, when participating as the “visiting team” KBA will respect decisions of host associations (Little League and Baseball Ontario) as they advise of diamond closures in their own territories
