Winter Skills

The Winter Skills Programs provide off-season skill development and athletic conditioning for ages 7 to 13.  Players of all skill levels and experience are invited to join us in preparing for the upcoming season in the comfort of an indoor facility.  These programs focus on developing and reinforcing the fundamental skills of throwing, fielding, hitting, and base running.

Players successfully registered for a Winter Skills program should wear appropriate baseball attire, including jock or jill, and indoor shoes (no cleats).  Batting helmets and baseball gloves are required for each session.  It is highly recommended all items be labeled with its owner's name!

All sessions are 75 minutes long and take place Friday evenings in the SensPlex Fieldhouse on Maple Grove.

  • Players born 2011-2013 : 5:00pm - 6:15pm
  • Players born 2008-2010: 6:30pm - 7:45pm

This is an 8 week program with sessions starting February 19, 2021 and running every Friday until April 9, 2021.

** Note for Participants **

Hello Parents,

We are very happy to announce that our Winter Skills program will begin this Friday, February 19 at the Bell Sensplex Indoor Fieldhouse (Argyle Field). Due to our late start, we have to reduce the program to 8 weeks, finishing April 9. All registered players will have their RAMP account credited $30 for the missed sessions.

Please review the Sensplex Return To Play guidelines attached to this email. Sensplex has done a fantastic job organizing themselves to open safely, as demonstrated this fall with the return to hockey operations. Player safety is KBA's number 1 priority, please be sure to follow all directions outlined in the Sensplex guidelines.

As a reminder, sessions are 75 minutes:

Session 1 (2011-2013) starts at 5:00 -- Coach Mike Brown
Session 2 (2008-2010) starts at 6:30 -- Coach Scott McNeil

Some important information for Friday:

  • Players should come dressed in comfortable athletic attire, with a jock/jill and indoor running shoes (no cleats). Please bring a baseball glove, batting helmet, a bottle of water, and a personal bottle of hand sanitizer. Personal bats are allowed. Players should NOT bring baseballs into the facility.
  • All participants must wear a mask until instructed by the coach to remove them. Nobody will be permitted to enter the Sensplex without a mask.
  • Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before the start of your session. Players will exit through the exterior door at the end of the session (we have 15 minutes to clean-up, change, and exit). Parents ARE NOT allowed to enter the fieldhouse. There is a very small viewing area where a "supervisor" is permitted, but we strongly recommend that parents wait in their vehicles.
  • You must fill out the Sensplex Patron Screening form for EACH session on the day of (Friday) that session. The form must identify each person entering the doors. You can find the form here:
  • We will have limited space and time for changing clothing and footwear, and for younger players, this has always been chaos resulting in a lot of items left behind. Please minimize this risk by sending your child with the absolute minimum of personal belongings. We also recommend labelling all items and reminding your children to carefully review their belongings before leaving the facility.

We are all looking forward to getting back on the field. Thank you for your patience and understanding in these challenging times. If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to
